It’s Saturday night and you have a date. Unfortunately, your monetary situation is not optimal for drinks, an expensive dinner, and dancing. Don’t fret! There are plenty of ways to have a great time on a limited budget.

Host a romantic dinner. Put a single flower in a vase on the table. Surround it with candles. Turn on some soft music. Cook your date’s favorite meal and serve it by candlelight.

If you’d rather go out, take a walk through a local park in the moonlight. If you live near water, go for a walk on the beach. Take a blanket, and a cooler with you. When you tire of walking, spread out the blanket and pull out some drinks.

Look for a free concert. Most cities have at least one free concert happening on Saturday nights, especially in the summer.

Sporty couples could try going for a long bike ride. Pack a picnic meal, and a blanket to take with you. Stop in a park and have a late night picnic.

If you and your date are more adventurous, plan an overnight camping trip. Start a campfire and roast hot dogs. Don’t forget the tent and a sleeping bag!

Every family loves to have a fun movie night. Going out to the movie theater and buying a huge bucket of popcorn before settling into your seats to enjoy a great blockbuster hit film has become the preferred method of entertainment in our modern era. Unfortunately, not every family has the time or resources to go out every weekend. The good thing is that the movie theater experience can be brought into your home for a much smaller investment over time than you would end up spending at the actual theater.

The first thing to do is to pick out a room in your home and set it aside just for media purposes. Get some nice shelving and line the walls with all of your favorite films. As for the television, to truly enjoy the movie theater experience you will need a large LCD or plasma screen. Depending on the size of the room, a medium-sized TV should fit comfortably. Many people are beginning to mount the TV on their wall or above the mantle, to save space in the room and further give off the presence of a true home theater.

The last thing to remember when setting up your theater room? Don’t forget the popcorn! If you like what you see, keep going: Please Consider Signing the Movie Theater Etiquette Manifesto

Card games can be a great way to entertain a smaller group of friends for a fun party night at the house. Most card games are simple enough to include kids, but are fully capable of entertaining any age group. Some of the best games to play include Call It, War, Go-Fish, Rummy, and Black Jack. Call It is a simple game you can play that will provide hours of fun. You simply take turns placing cards face down in the middle, if you suspect someone is not laying down what they say, you Call It. War is another good game where you can battle it out for the highest card. Try to get the whole deck and just when you think you’ve got it, the tables turn. Go-Fish is a traditional children’s game however it is very entertaining and easy to add a couple of rules for advanced players. Rummy tends to be another classic that can be very competitive. Be careful with this one, its addicting. Black Jack is a simple game you attempt to add your cards up as close to 21 as you can without going over. Now invite your friends over for a fun filled night.

In this economy, we all have to be creative when it comes to saving money. Spending Saturday night – traditionally an evening for going out – at home is not only a great budgetary choice but a fantastic time for family bonding too!

Instead of going out for an expensive new movie release with the family, set your living room up to be a fun home theater. Seat everyone together on the couch or add cushions to the floor for extra seating. Choose a movie start time in advance and flicker the lights to signal everyone to grab their seats.

Have lots of fun movie-themed snacks and drinks (bought at the local store for a MUCH better price!) within reach. You can even play with movie classics by letting the family mix sodas together or add flavor syrups to cola. Some fruit-flavored candy straws can be used like regular straws to drink sodas – kids love these!

Try making your own microwave or stovetop popcorn and add custom toppings like cheese, powdered popcorn flavorings, or even bake your own sweet caramel corn. Try making a snack mix with pretzels, cereal, chocolate, nuts, dried fruit, and popcorn for a crunchy delight.

Bowling is the ultimate family fun activity. From a year old to a hundred years old, everyone can enjoy it. At most bowling alleys, you can rent bowling shoes of all sizes. If your family makes bowling a habit, you can also buy your own bowling shoes at several different sport store locations. In an older bowling alley, the scores are kept with pencil and paper. The newer bowling alleys have the touch screen automatic scoring systems in place. Bowling provides physical exercise and hours of quality time with the family at, usually, a very low-cost.The whole story can be found at http://www.travelpod.com/travel-blog-entries/ahmedalmenhali/1/1305218346/tpod.html Bumpers can be raised for the younger children. Smaller balls that are light weight are also available for the youngest bowlers. Bowling alleys usually have hundreds of different sized, weighted, and colored balls ensuring everyone finds exactly what they are looking for. If planning a bowling trip after dark, more than likely you will run into a cosmic bowling adventure. If you never have, this is something to definitely try. On top of a great family bowling experience, most offer a snack bar. What’s better than competitive bowling with your family and having food and drinks readily available when you get that thirst or hunger.

It is very easy to get deals at your local movie theater. The best way to find deals is to perform an internet search for your local movie theater. Most of the time the search results will yield coupons that can be used at your local movie theater. These coupons will range from deals on foods to deals on movie tickets.

Another good way to get deals at your local movie theater is by going down to the theater and simply asking what deals they have going on. Do not ask them if they have deals, just ask them what deals they have going on this week. This is a very effective way of getting deals at a movie theater.

The Sunday newspaper is usually filled with coupons and deals for everything, and this includes deals for the local movie theater. Get your hands on the next Sunday paper and it is a very good bet that somewhere in the paper you will find coupons that you can use at your local movie theater.

Another good way to get deals at your local theater is to simply ask the manager if they can give you deals on food or tickets. This is a great way to get deals at your local movie theater.

On the weekends a party with your friends doesn’t have to be expensive and you don’t really have to go out to have a good time. There are some cheap party ideas for you and your friends that you can do at home.
Have your friends all suggest a favorite movie to watch it can be an old or new movie, then write down all the suggestion on pieces of paper and drop them in a box. Next randomly pick three movies to watch for the night. In between movies make snacks and talk about the good points and bad parts of the movie. It can also be fun to have everyone write down what snacks ideas would be fun in between the movies like popcorn, nachos, pizza or candies.
You could even plan to have genre movies planned. Maybe the first movie could be a romance comedy, the second could be an action thriller and then finally a late night horror film (some girls just love horror films), and it is fun sometimes to see other peoples reaction to some movie scenes. A home movie party is one of the best cheap party ideas for you and your friends.
